1.30What are the diffrences between bamboo flooring, and wood flooring?
Q.Can you also give pro's and con's of both?
thanks.
A.Wood flooring is made directly from trees, while bamboo is actually a fast-growing grass. Some say it is even harder than hardwood! Bamboo comes in various qualities - from bamboo laminate, to the more expensive, woven and carbonized bamboo flooring.
There are several pages discussing the pros, cons and varieties of wood and bamboo flooring listed on the following Quick Click Green Flooring Guide.
http://www.building-your-green-home.com/flooring-types.html
Specific pages on bamboo are the following:

Hope this helps.

1.10Best wood flooring material, and easy to install?
Q.We are renovating my condo and I want to install wood flooring throughout the living area. What is the best wood flooring material and cheapest?
A.For a good balance between cost and quality, consider using Bamboo Flooring. Also a good choice for the environment.
1.05How to Clean "Click Wood Flooring"?
Q.Not sure the proper name for it.. but its not hard wood flooring. Its wood flooring that Clips together..
I have tried murphys, vinager and water, Vim for wood floors, a few different all purpose cleaners that are safe for wood, and just water... Nothing seems to get the smudges, and marks off the floor. Any ideas?!
Thanks for any help.
A.I think you mean Laminate flooring?
We have Laminate. You can get rid of the streaks and smudges with a microfiber mop and vinegar.
Just mix vinegar with water (or even use it undiluted) and mop with this. The microfiber really does a wonderful job getting rid of those smudges.
You can buy microfiber mops just about anywhere...Walmart, Target, K-Mart, Home Depot, hardware stores, and even Dollar General.
Good luck.

1.00How much would it cost to wood flooring?
Q.To do a 14 ft by 14 ft room [estimate]
all together just an estimate
[my family's friend owns a wood flooring company]
A.Depending on the type of wood
6.50 to 10.00 per sq ft.

1.00I want to get wood flooring to replace my carpet, but I have two dogs.?
Q.The dogs are medium and large. I'm afraid they will scratch the surface. Is there an indestructable wood or simulated wood product on the market?
A.The laminate flooring works great. It is easier to install, is stronger than wood for floors, & does not need to be refinished. When buying, check for thickness of the color.
It will also help if you keep your dogs nails trimmed.
1.00Pergo wood floor installers?
Q.Does anyone know of a company that will install pergo wood flooring cheaper then Lowes or Home Depot? They want $5 per square ft to install when it only costs $3.50 square ft for the wood.
A.I'm installing my own laminate wood flooring. That is my way of solving that problem. And it's going in beautifully, with no difficulty.
1.00What is the best way to level a floor in preparation to install wood floors?
Q.Trying to prepare a particle board floor over a sub-floor for wood flooring. very un-level. Should I tear up the particle board or use floor leveler products?
A.Best fix is to tear out existing sub flooring and replace with a new T&G (tongue and groove) flooring system, screw and glue with sub floor glue, may have to shim it in places, but you can do the same to the existing flooring by shimming it, glue it and screwing it, but this take some talent or experience and only if you have access to the underneath side. If the new wood flooring is a free floating/laminate you can get floor levelor at your nearest home improvement store they will explain how to use it.

Wood Flooring
There is no match to the kind of beauty and warmth that your hard wood flooring can give to your >, Arizona area home. No matter what the newest style of flooring in the market, there is an elegantly old world look that a wood floor provides that other flooring materials simply don't come close to. Looks aren't the only reason why wood flooring is perfect for your home. It's easy to care for, and long lasting too. Add to this a variety of styles to choose from, and you have a flooring material choice that delivers on every count.
When it comes to choosing a hard wood floor for your >, Arizona area home, consider not just the décor in the rest of the room, but also the kind of use the room has, and your life style. Certain species are not advised for use in certain parts of the country. Your formal living room will be accented by a darker color of wood, while kitchens and family rooms need wood flooring that is of a lighter shade, and not a dark or bleached wood floor. The high traffic and risk of spills in these area call for a different style. Bathrooms on the other hand, do not work well with wood floors. Oak hard wood floors and cherry hard wood floors are still the wood species of choice for their long lasting style. Consider color variations in each piece of wood that is installed, because each piece could have been sourced from a different tree. Take in to consideration the thicknesses and widths of the boards or planks. All companies have their own color, sizes and styles, so make sure that your floor installer and you are on the same page on all the specifications. For instance, a natural oak wood floor is called by dozens of different names in the flooring industry.
Although wood flooring is available in a choice of price ranges, remember that the cheaper the wood, the lower the quality. A cheap hard wood floor will almost always have more natural imperfections and variations in color. A higher priced floor will offer not just deeper colors and the possibilities of special color washing, but also will have greater consistency in color. To make sure that your expensive wood floor lasts long, never use ordinary floor care products on your floor. Protect your wood floor by using rugs. Never leave water standing on your floor -- this can damage and discolor the wood. Also, remember to use flat foot wear on your wood floors. High heels that can exert as much as 2000 pounds of pressure per square inch can damage your wood floor. Never drag furniture across the floor, and always use a vacuum brush.

Thinking about replacing carpet and linoleum in a finished basement with tile and bamboo. Needs to be moisture resistant, no formaldahyde. thinking about 600 square feet of bamboo with a standard stairwell, and about 150 square feet of tile. If you do so, framing and tiling a custom shower in a corner of the bathroom would be great too.
